PROJECT SUMMARY - Response to Covid Shutdown for Poor Communities

We discovered that poor families use whatsapp regularly due to cheaper cost of data specifically for this app.  We have developped a support network of children and teachers, supported by wonderful administrators who get daily worksheets, appropriate to their age and learning.

OUR GOALS

Every child should:

1.  Have access to age and attainment appropriate worksheets and teacher support

2.  Poor kids, without resources, should not fall behind their peers due to lack of support and infrastructure.

We managed to keep 1400 pupils abreast of studies during covid, with daily or weekly worksheets sent out via whatsapp groups.

The Groups also gave pupils / parents the ability to ask questions and help each other.
